Can we please have the equivalent of Rule Machine Actions added to Mode Manager for each Mode, triggered when transitioning to the mode the actions are linked to? I am viewing this request as being similar to the way Button Controller simplifies the trigger options available for button devices, then provides and relatively open ended list of Actions as a result.
Background
I have used Mode Manager in a very small way in the past, but primarily setup my Mode automations through Rule Machine, splitting them between rules for how to transition to a mode and what to do when transitioning to a specific mode.
While I need to still look at the more recent improvements in Mode Manager for managing transitions, I was thinking it would be nice to include both methods for transitioning to modes as well as the actions to perform, all in the one spot.
To provide some context for my use of modes, my transitions include use of
- Samsung Smart Button Pushes and Holds
- Sunset and Sunrise +/-
- Lux
- Presence
My Actions include (depending on the mode):
- Shades Up or Down
- Adjustments to the polling rates and LEDs on my Kasa plugs (using the Community drivers)
- Various Virtual Switch adjustments
Lighting adjustments are mostly handled within Room Lighting.
