Lutron Caseta Fan Controller, or a true smart switch (non-dimmer) that is rated for electrical motor loads.

Lutron’s other Caseta switches, including the ones that don’t require a neutral wire, are rated for motor loads that would include many ceiling fans; each switch has detailed specs that state the # of amps they can handle, so one can always check that against their fan specs.

But unlike the fan controller, they’re good for on/off only, no speed control.

Yes, I use Lutron Caseta "Switches" for bathroom exhaust fans. I use Caseta Fan Controllers for ceiling fans. Both work very well.

Yup, at my old place I ended up using them for exhaust fans and one ceiling fan that didn’t need speed control. Worked great.

At my current place, I’m using RadioRA 2 and have no ceiling fans .
