It is a pain to change the fan speed with this switch. If I bought the Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range Scene Controller Switch ZEN32 800LR. Is it possible to program the buttons for Low, Med and High? Looking for a switch with just a push of a button I can change the speed.
Is it compatible with motor loads? Or did you mean to use it solely as a button controller to control your existing GE fan switch? If it is the latter, then I think it should work well for your needs.
I might be wrong, but it seems aaiyar’s concern doesn’t matter since you have a GE fan controller and you want to control it from the Zooz scene controller…
I use a couple of the small buttons on a Zooz Zen32 to bump my bond fan speed up and down, should be able to do similar using it as a remote for the “true” fan controller (I have another rule for going down in speed):
Yes, I would like to replace my GE swith. https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/ Is having a great sale right now so any switches you guys think I should get please let me know. I am thinking about replacing some of Tapo Matter switches too. What I am really looking at is Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range Smart Plug ZEN04 800LR Use a lot of old GE Z Wave plugs. Hope I don’t get in trouble here for getting off topic.
Are you using doubleTapped for anything? You can automate doubleTapped Up to be high, and doubleTapped Down to be low, or medium. Or, you can make doubleTapped Up raise one speed, and doubleTapped Down lower one speed.
Just a suggestion to give you direct speed control from your existing fan switch. I have several of those GE fan controllers, and I agree you never really know how long to hold to find medium
My fan speeds are set with scenes, but I usually use Echo voice commands for direct speed control beyond that. I also have a Zigbee button by the bed for direct control - You can get a four button scene switch and link a button to each speed, and to off. I have a single button that switches the fan between low and medium whenever it is pressed.
