False Notification Due to Power Spike

I have a rule that gives notification when Washine Machine Power drops below 1.0. It works quite well for letting us know when the clothes are ready to come out.

However, we had 2 false notifications. The latest issue I captured the logs and you can even see a crazy spike on the device page 'powerH'.

This wash machine is around 15 years old and I am using a newer Zooz PowerSwitch. Faulty washer or power switch or maybe just a glitch. The breaker didn't trip and everything still seems to be working fine. I also attached current logs at the end of the post.
Any thoughts?

The Zen 15 have been known to have those infrequent erroneous power reports. For my laundry monitoring rules, I include a limiting condition to keep those reports from triggering. Power >3 watts but <1800 watts trigger

If you are using RM then put in delay with cancel for around a minute to prevent this kind of false.

I see the delay field but I am not finding the delay with cancel.

You will see the cancel after you enter the delay time and click outside the time field with your left click on the mouse.

I don't have that rule any any longer as that was back on RM3. I use a custom driver for the Zen15 now that has an acceleration attribute that reports active for power over 4 watts and inactive for under. I do still have a limiting conditional for those erroneous power reports though (saw one recently for 670, 000 watts).

I've seen just a few reports from others. I don't think it is a widespread problem- might just be an issue with the older firmware mine has. But if you're worried about it, a conditional action like I use wouldn't hurt.

I had to add in booleans it was throwing notifications over and over because the power was changing slightly but it was under 10.

As I'm sure you're aware, these plugs can spit out a lot of info during a cycle. I adjusted the preferences so I would get fewer reports, and not need the boolean.

Okay I just matched your settings.

I honestly don’t know what they do. I figured 50 watts would only show you a difference if 50 watts in total changed. So if it’s 150 watts and only drops by 20 watts it would stay at 150... but I still see power constantly changing...

So I’m confused

In my settings, It will report if there is a change of 50 watts or a 100% change or it's been two minutes since the last report. Power change as small as from 4 to 8 watts is a 100% change, so an event is created. You'll probably need to do some fine tuning for your unit.
