External URLs in WebCore no longer work after migration to C-8

After migrating to C-8, everything works, except External URLs in WebCore.

If I test run the piston from HE, the piston works.

However, if I take either the cloud or the local URL and run it locally it fails.

{"error":true,"type":"java.lang.Exception","message":"An unexpected error occurred."}

Can anyone suggest what I should be checking? I have enabled Maker API.

WebCore appears to be working fine, apart from this. And my ActionTiles integration is working, so I guess that means that the HE API is accessible.

I have seem some issues with static ip assignment on the forum. This in turn caused DNS issues.

Maybe your problem is related. Worth a try to make a reserved IP on your router and change the IP settings on your hub to DHCP.

Ensure you are up to latest webCoRE on your system - if a user install HPM repair.

After installing, wait 10 mins, then politely reboot your hub.

The external URLs will change during the upgrade to a new hub, so you can check if they work by looking at the piston for the URL. The references may need to be changed in calling applications because the hub uid changes.

While I don't personally run webcore, I really like how active you web core guys have been with problems here... :slight_smile:

Thank you, guys.

I was composing a long reply asking how to repair the built-in version of WebCore, etc; when I realized that my External URLs have just started working again.

Not exactly sure why. I regenerated the token for WebCore and randomly poked a bunch of other things. Suspecting either a caching issue or alien interference. Assigning roughly equal probability to each!

I think you're a bit low on the alien inteference side. Lots of jealousy from the outer ring planets since earth got the C-8 first. :wink: Glad you're up and running.

That's what I've been doing wrong all these years. I usually reboot with much hostility in my heart.
