Can anyone suggest a alternative to the Ecolink DWZWAVE2.5 z-wave or zigbee contact sensor that has screw terminals for external contact sensor
Aeotec’s Z Wave door contact has terminals for an external input that are configurable for normally open or normally closed operation.
is there a particular model that has the terminals
You need the "pro" version, model ZWA012 (ZWA012-A in the US, other suffixes for other regions/frequencies). The non-pro version looks nearly the same but does not have terminals to connect external probes.
That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with the Ecolink, even if the hardwawre is getting a bit dated these days.
I have several of them. Great performers and I'm an LR fanboy. Awesome range, long battery life. When you take the cover off, you can see the antenna, I believe. Perhaps that helps.
I have the Ecolink and it literally never seems to use any battery! But i'm switching it out with the ZWA102 @bertabcd1234 suggested, as I'm going to mod it for external DC, and the Aeotec has those pre-drilled holes for the terminal block!
Now if Aeotec had a pinout of the block on their page....lol
