I use the cabinet lights in my kitchen to light my food preparation area and indicate current mode. I have a RGBW strip driven by a Gledopto GL-C-007P. When a motion sensor detects movement, I have a Room Lighting room set to turn the LED strips on to white with brightness based on mode. When there is no motion, the "white room" turns off and an "RGB room" turns the same device on to a colour based on the system mode.
I have to switch one "room" off to turn the other on but it all works rather neatly and I can have each track mode changes.
Putting on my obsessive hat, I wanted to try to see if I could use "alternative off" to switch between the two. "On" would be the white mode and "off" would be the RGB indicator mode.
I can do this except that I can't get the light to track system mode while in the alternative off state.
Since I can set alternative off by mode, I think it might be a neat feature to have the alternative off mode track mode changes just like the room can when on.
-Then- I think it would be a good idea to have one or both tracking options overridden by something. I have an extra setting for the "white room" where I can press a button to turn on the white LEDs to full brightness when I want that. In that state, I don't want the room to track mode changes but wait for when the lights come back down from full brightness to resume the schedule based on motion.
I accept this may be a nightmare to lay out in the UI, but I just thought I'd raise the idea.
