Exclusion Procedure for Ring Gen 2

What is the proper exclusion procedure for Ring Gen2 Motion Sensors? I have tried pushing the button in the Pin hole. That just hard resets the device andleaves behind a ghost that I cant get rid of,

Scratch that. I found a thread talking about rang extenders that has a link to the Zwave Alliance Product Page, which had the manual. On that page there was a link to All Ring Devices and was able to find the manual for the Motion Sensors These manuals DO outline a different procedure than what you typically find on the Ring Support website.

Yes, that manual is much better than anything shown on the Ring website.

Glad I stumbled across that!! I couldn't find the original thread, or I would have cross-referenced it.

For anyone that comes across this post looking to figure out how to exclude one of these motion sensors,

  1. Remove your sensor from its base.
  2. Put your hub into exclusion
  3. While your hub is in exclusion, use a toothpick, paper clip etc to tap the reset button in the pinhole on the back.
Once the light on the front turns red it is excluded and ready to be included in a network.

Thatโ€™s it. You can find the manual with the full procedure as well as manuals for other Ring (and other Z-wave devices) at the link above.
