I'm having a strange issue whenever I plug my hub into my router that it kills all of my wired and wireless connections to my network. I'm not sure what is causing this. I have had my hub disconnected for a few months and why I tried to connect it I'm having this issue. Any advice or troubleshooting ideas would be great.
Did it work before you disconnected it?
Is this the same router as before?
Have you tried a different Ethernet cable?
Itβs possible that the PoE wires are shorted in the cable you have. Does the router supply PoE?
Do you have a switch to put between the Hubitat hub and the router? That would isolate the hub, and would provide assurance that its not the fact that anything plugged into that port on the router brings things down.
Well I'm an idiot. I thought I had the ethernet cable plugged into the hub but I accidentally made a loop on the router with the cable so that is why I was having the issue. So now it is fixed.
Weβve all made mistakes that we wonβt repeat. Chalk this one up to experience. Now, if you do it again ...
Thank God you're here. I thought I was the only one who does stuff like this. I'll meet you in the clubhouse later.
I've done that!
This has been posted elsewhere but...
Did you know that if you plug an outlet strip back into itself you get infinite power?
(Actually had to explain to someone once why you can't plug the strip into itself... )
Well if you put a little hole in the side you have an electron "laser"!
Any time I see an article like that I laugh. I could give a **** less what kids think of my posting and texting style. They can all they want.
They actually think we care that they think it's "uncool". LOL
I am trying really really hard to care what the millennials think about emojis, but can't quite get there.
Exactly.
It's in the book, penguins can wreak havoc on many types of networks
