Error in Simple Automation Rules when attempting to use variable time

I can reliably reproduce an error in the latest firmware when selecting trying to select a variable time as the start trigger of a simple automation lighting rule:

java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke method hasCapability() on null object on line 341 (method mainPage)

I will investigate....

There was a bug reported with this, and the fix will be in the upcoming 2.2.9 release, now in beta.
