Does anyone have an ERIA color bulb? I have a rule that changes it to blue for mail arrival and when the mailman shows it goes to a light purple. I can manually select blue form the picker or type in 67 and it works fine. But next time mail comes it is either the purple or sometimes it even goes to green!
Anyone having this issue with these bulbs?
Rule is as follows.
You shouldn't have the hue and saturation and the color itself. There is a bug that when selecting a color from the picker after picking a custom color doesn't clear the custom settings. If you go into the rule and clear the custom settings, it should look like this:
From the color drop-down, select custom color, then remove the hue and sat, then from the drop-down pick blue again.
That did the trick. thanks
Ok, so I have the rule as @Ryan780 showed above and set it to this:
I have it set to Red in another rule for something else. No not a house of repute. Maybe it is a smarter bulb than I expected, it is combining blue with red to get magenta!
But it still is coming in as magenta! I don't use that color for anything, trust me. So could this be the fault of the bulb? It is a ERIA color bulb. thanks
Wait, when you set the color of the bulb it only adds to the previous color? Try setting it to blue then red from the edit device page. Might be a problem with the driver.
@Ryan780 This is very interesting. First I set it to blue and turn it off. Then I set the color selector to red on the driver page and hit Set Color and it goes from previously set blue to magenta to red. Hmm. Then I turn it off and then I set the color selector to a blue color and hit Set Color and it goes from red to magenta to blue. Hmm. But it always kind of hesitates at magenta for a second each time it does the transition from blue to red or red to blue.
From the rule it has a strange behavior. When one of the rules trips (turn on blue) it shows it correctly. If the second rule (turn to red) trips after the first rule then it will show magenta. The same happens if you reverse the roles. The bulb never goes from blue to red or red to blue when the rules run no matter which one goes first or how long in between.
I also wanted to add that the bulb is connected to the Hue Bridge and this is what it has for a description in the Hue App.
Extended Color Light
Model: ZLL-ExtendedColor
SW: 1000-0007
I need to add that this bulb is a RGBW bulb it says. If I set the bulb type to RGB it will turn from red to blue to red no problem on the device page. If I change the bulb to the RGBW type and I try to go from red to blue it actually goes from red to magenta, but will never go to blue.
I have examples of all these bulbs now, however I have yet to complete testing on them.
The only device I've messed with so far is the adjustable white model, and of note it appears to be slower in providing state reports than other bulbs I've worked with, to the point that some driver modifications will be required for them.
If the remainder of the product line follows suite in its response profile this may be part of the issue you're seeing.
@mike.maxwell Thanks Mike. I noticed there are 3 other ERIA devices in the list. Will you be adding these bulbs once you have figured out there reporting issue? Is this issue something that can be overcome so they work correctly?
@mike.maxwell , do you have a color bulb as one of your examples? It seems to be the one that has the issues. The adj. white ones work quite well. thanks
Yes
I just tried the Generic Zigbee CT (dev) driver with the Eria White Tunable Bulbs, seems to be working well.
