I've searched and cannot find an answer. Does the Enbrighten Zigbee Smart Receptacle 43102 have a default state setting? I use it for my main wifi (eero pro 7). My power went out and my wifi did not come back up. I had to turn the receptacle back on. The Generic Zigbee Outlet driver does not have an option for default state.
I see the GE Zigbee Switch Driver has a restore state preference. I tested that the driver works with my Generic Zigbee Outlets to turn them on and off.
I would try that driver and test if the state restore preference works with your Enbrighten Zigbee Smart Receptacle.
Nope, it did not offer a default state setting.
Your right, I thought I saw it but I must have seen default state. I tried a bunch of drivers, many work the switch but still have no to return state after power fail preference.
Seems it is possible, if your device supports it:
- Manufacturer Firmware: If the outlet does not support it, it cannot be forced by software.
- Workarounds: If your outlet defaults to "ON" after power is restored, you can create an automation in platforms like Home Assistant to immediately turn the outlet off if it was off before the power loss
So maybe save the state in a hub variable whenever it changes, and then use a device that reports mains power, to restore the state when mains power comes back after it goes down, assuming the hub is on UPS and stays running through a power outage.
"Based on the Jasco/Enbrighten support documentation for Zigbee products, the Enbrighten Zigbee Smart Receptacle (such as 43102) generally defaults to the "OFF" state after a power outage to ensure safety. While some Zigbee devices can be configured via a hub to remember their last state, this specific model is designed to return to a safe, off-state rather than restoring its previous on/off state automatically"
Appreciate the help. It does default to off. I have my house wifi (eero 7's) plugged into this outlet. I did consider webcore or a Basic Rule to turn the outlet on when my hubitat reboots. That was my main goal here anyway. So I will just take that approach. OR, just change out the outlet to one that has the default state ON option. Thanks.
