EconetControl Bulldog valve not registering with HE

All
I am trying to get the Bulldog valve included in the HE. It recognizes the ZWave device and then goes to initialize it but never finishes, hence the registration never finishes. Has anyone else seen the same thing? I have updated 2.8 version of HE as well with no change.
I have tried to Exclude it and it is able to do that...

I have a Universal Device Hub at a different location and same device works just fine. So it has something to with HE.

Any help is much appreciated

thanks

Sometimes it helps to do one or more of the following.

  • Reboot hub before trying to include.
  • Exclude first, before trying inclusion. (looks like that was successful?)
  • Move hub closer to device, or device closer to hub.

Open logs in a new tab/window and see what they show when excluding and including. Maybe that will give one of us a clue what is going on.

The other thing you should look at is to see if you have any "ghost" devices in the Zwave details menu. Any that have blank IN:OUT are probably failed inclusions of this or another device. You want to clear those up before proceeding. Ghosts give lots of problems if not killed off.

thanks. Apologies, for late response. I tried following:

  1. Rebooted Hub
  2. Excluded the Device, which is successful
  3. Rebooted
  4. tried inclusion, it recognizes the device and then gets into initialization and is stuck as if it is looking for a driver that does not exists (I am speculating here)
  5. I did have one ghost device, that I deleted.
  6. Logs do not provide any additional

Here is the system log and Event Log. As you will see it recognizes the device and assigns it a number

Not sure what you mean by 2.8 version.
Latest Hubitat running version: 2.2.4.148 (as of this posting)

I happen to just buy 2 Bulldogs and both paired fine. They save as a device and I just changed the DH to generic Zwave valve.
Both work as they should.
Both are setup within a few feet of my hub.

2.8 is typo. You can see in the log file latest version. Thanks for confirming that they work. Still need to see why it is not completing initializing process.

To be clear both my Bulldogs are model ECV200 on a C5 hub.
I also have an older model Econet valve model EBV105 on the same C5 hub.
As well as another EBV105 valve on a C7 hub.

Could be yours are to far from your hub or a Zwave router device.
You could also have interference from a faulty device in the new area.

It is EVC200, i will try your suggestion and bring the device next to hub and see if that helps.

Hey there. Any luck? Iā€™m having the same exact issue with a brand new HE and brand new Bulldog. Thanks!

I have mine installed on a C-7 with no issues so it is possible..

It's set as a "Generic Z-Wave Valve".. I have a water valve "test" I run on the first of every month that closes then opens again and sends me a report. I use a contact sensor on the lever... It's been running for the last month or so :crossed_fingers:
