Echo and how to change the light color

I got Echo up and running with HE. I have installed the echo skill and echo speaks. I have also installed CoCoHue. I cannot figure out how to change the color of the bulbs in the living room (or any room). I have set-up a color called movie in the hue app and it is installed in Cocohue. I ask alexa to turn living room to movie and it doesn't understand. It doesn't understand any of the color names that I have in the Hue app.
I know I am missing something that I need to do but I can't figure it out.

Do you mean a scene called movie?

It may be easier to create the scene in HE. Hubitat scenes create a scene actuator device that appears as a switch. If you make that scene device available to Alexa you can control it as a switch.

I created the scene in the Hue App. I imported into HE through the cocohue app. Do I need to create a further scene in HE?

If the scene shows up in devices on HE can you turn it on and off and does that yield the expected results? If so, then I'd bet all you need to do is expose that scene actuator device to Alexa, which will see it as a switch.

I think I figured it out. The scenes are available as devices and they are all in Alexa.It just doesn't like how I was saying the scenes. It is being very temperamental. I have a huge amount of lights and scenes in Hue which I think is causing part of the problem. I may have to expose only those ones that I want to control by voice.
It's going to be tiresome to say "turn on living room movie" and my hubby is already giving me looks about having to say all that. Is there a better way to do this?

I use routines to customize the commands Alexa needs. So instead of saying "Alexa, turn on living room movie" I would just say "Alexa, movie." Or if you want to get really fancy, see if there's an integration for your TV. That way you can detect the TV going on and automatically switch to movie mode. No additional hubby interaction required. Or you can do the reverse... when Alexa hears "movie" she can turn your lights to movie mode and turn the TV on.

I just created the routine and it works so much better. Hubby is happier. Thanks for getting me into the right direction.
