Eaton RF9640-N Dimmer

Hello Community,

I have an Eaton RF9640-N Z-Wave Dimmer. Its been added to my hub and I have a rule setup to turn on around sunset. That part is working.

But what isn't working is the dimmer status on my dashboard. It always shows "off" even when the lights have been turned on. If I open it from my Devices list and click the Refresh button, then the status updates and it shows as "on". How do I get it to reflect the current status automatically?

Thank you,
Clint

I have similar symptoms with my Leviton ZW4SF fan controllers. In the App (Android 2.0.6) those devices always show "ON". When the device is opened to control it, the correct status is shown. The open device is controllable as expected. All other switches and dimmers show correct status from the dashboard. If I open the device from the Web UI the correct status is shown.

Hi @bobbyD I noticed you helped in other posts. Can you help here? Thank you

Hard to tell, what driver type are you using? Have you tried changing it to a different type? Is the device included with security encryption? Is it really the Z-Wave Plus model or an older legacy device that doesn't report its status back to the hub? If you checked all others, and still have problems, have you tried excluding and reincluding the device to see if the fixes it?

You can also check this document for more tips, if you didn't already: How to Troubleshoot Z-Wave | Hubitat Documentation

Is the dashboard tile set up as a dimmer tile or a switch tile (based on your post, it kind of sounds like switch).

Definitely Plus model - says so on the dimmer label.

I have tried Eaton Dimmer and Master Dimmer drivers (with encryption). I'll try without encryption to see if that helps.

And yes its definitely a Plus model - says so on the device label.

Will post my findings soon. Thanks

@bobbyD I excluded and added it again (without security now) and still see the same behavior. Since its a Z-Wave "Plus", I have not added Polling (per the "How to Troubleshoot Z-Wave" page).

Are there other suggestions? Thank you
