Easy Dashboard tile for First Alert Combo Smoke / CO2
I have a First Alert Battery Powered Z-Wave Smoke Detector & Carbon and the
Easy Dashboard tile for Combo Smoke /Carbon only shows one either Smoke or Carbon also the icon is the same for both. Is there a way for the tile to show the status for both Smoke and Carbon in one tile.
However, you can use the same device on two different tiles (and assign separate tile types to each). You can also assign a custom icon to one or both to more easily distinguish, among other possibilities (e.g., helper tile separating groups with different titles).
The Icons options for Easy Dashboard are limited and so small that someone other then the person who created the tile can't tell what's what. I though the Easy tiles was ready for prime time but I guess not. I will stick with the old dashboard for now. The more I dig into Easy dashboard the more I get discouraged on using it. The name does not do it justice.
Hubitat Dashboard is not going away. If it is a better match for your needs, there is no reason you cannot keep using it. (While feedback is being evaluated and features added, Easy Dashboard will still likely never be quite as customizable.)
Thanks. I do have a legacy dashboard setup like that. Just wanted to start using Easy Dashboard but its not ready for prime time. I will stick with the legacy and stay away from anything labeled new and improved.
This could go into a feature request. That said, I am not certain to the feasibility of adding a new tile type, or whether this is even possible on a code level.
When you are in the EZ dash, unlock the padlock on the bottom right. The gear menu on the left will have some options for text size, and tile height. You can change both to a larger setting to make things easier to read. True that the icon and text are tied together in that top setting, but it is better than nothing and suffering with too tiny to see icons.
This is just bumping up the text size and tile height. I went pretty extreme, I think I used 26 point font, and 185 height here.
And here I doubled the tile size (two wide) and you can see the extreme difference. All three screenshots are all the same height and width, at least as close as I can get on a screenshot.
Edit: this is a desktop, but a phone will have a similar effect.
