[DRIVER] Zooz ZEN53 DC Motor Controller (for shades)

My two ZEN53 at firmware 1.10 and so far are working very well.
I am not sure (and did not check) what for is a parameters 19 and 20.
Since @jtp10181 wrote a very nice Driver for the ZEN53 (and many other Zooz devices) he is a better person to answer this question. If these parameters are somewhat useful he potentially can update a Driver accordingly.

Yeah it looks like those extra settings allow you set the open time different from the closed time, as opposed to settings 3 or 4 which are the open/close times for the two different modes (both open/close are the same value). @razors.equals_0s I will get them added.

Thank you very much!
But I am not sure, I will rush with the firmware update and my rule modification accordingly,
As of now I am very happy with the Driver and ZEN53 "as is". My application is a 100% local control (I absolutely hate cloud-based services) for two Flair Vents. I simply replaced the original Flair control board with ZEN53, powered from small 12V-to-3V DC-DC Converter. Gladly I already had/have 12V DC power source near vents. The result is - 100% local control and no batteries.

Thanks very much!

I hope this will fix the issue where close-open-close ends up at a lower point than it started. (I have no feedback in my system)

I also noticed this phenomena very quickly after I started to use my modified vents. My fix for this is to always fully close vents and then move them to the desired position. This is working very well for over a year and never required recalibration.

Hello, I finished installing a Zen53 to control a 12V roller (link: Amazon product page). I am able to open and close the roller, but I'm confused about how to configure the open and close limits. I modified the Motor Cycle Duration for Shutter Mode to set the limits, but after a few minutes, it became misconfigured. Is there any links on how to set limits for fully open and fully closed? Thank you

If the motor has mechanical limits in it, or will stop moving at the end without breaking the blinds, you should be able to use the calibration for it to detect the open and close times (may want to test with it not attached to the blinds to avoid over extending). How to Calibrate Your ZEN53 DC Motor Controller - Zooz Support Center

If it does not have mechanical limits then set the motor mode to the default and manually set the Motor Cycle Duration for Shutter Mode in centiseconds (100 = 1 second).

Thank you... will try it

Hi There,
I managed to set the limits on the roller, and initially, it worked well automatically by pressing the button on the Zen53. However, I've noticed that it loses calibration from the original settings over time. If I repeat the calibration process, everything works well again, but I don't think it should require recalibration this frequently. Any suggestions?

Thank you

There are two new settings, which I have not added to the posted driver yet, that allow you to set the open and close times separately (so they can be different values). Not sure if that would make a difference. Other than that what you are describing is not a driver issue, you would have to open a support ticket with Zooz or post on their community site.
