Door sensor 'wedge'?

Hi all, sorry to both you with such a trivial problem...

I recently bought a batch load (10) adurosmart contact sensors for windows/doors around my home. I've installed 4 successfully, but due to double glazing frames, the magnet and the sensor can't really be located close enough to each other to ever read 'closed'

I wasn't aware how short the range would be. Previous sensors have all been fine...

One option might be a mount? Or a bracket of some sort? Anyone had this before? Any thoughts on how to overcome this without using a lump of MDF :pensive:

Thanks :+1:

Andy

Perhaps a stronger magnet would make a difference?

Something like this may do the trick.
I've mounted a block of 6 of these on my curtain pole to get close enough to the contact sensor.
They are strong magnets.
You could buy one and if it works OK just get some more.

You can just get stronger neodymium magnets on Amazon, drill a hole in the frame and recess the magnet. I’ve been doing this to avoid having so many unsightly things affixed to my doors.

Thank you for your suggestions. I ended up buying these in white, which are neodymium magnets and hopefully they'll look/perform ok

Thanks again

Agree with @Ken_Fraleigh. The magnets that come with contact sensors are pretty weak. I’ve bought magnets at the local box stores and also bought ones such as these from Amazon that have countersink holes to make it easy to screw them on to doors, etc
