I’ve gone back to homebridge, only due to me installing IOS 18 beta on my phone and ATV, prior to that the inbuilt integration was rock solid.
It's on the same network, different floor. I did some research and it seems to be one of those things that has been an apple "feature" for a while now. ![]()
When I answer or place a call if I want it to go to speakerphone I either have to pick the phone speaker or the hpm. Before the mini install it just said speaker and defaulted to the iphone speaker.
No a worry though. The keep alive update is still humming along nicely for me, no issues. Sorry folks who are still having issues!
I almost installed the ios 18 beta last week. I will stay away from that then thank you for posting your experience with this.
Also keep in mind when you do update your device have to do all IOS devices that you want to use home from otherwise they don’t play nice.
Just want to report that I am on C-8 and have had a great experience with the HK integration up until a few weeks ago, now, similar to some of you, constant "no response" from all integrated devices on HK. Only thing fixes it is a reboot (not restart). I use rebooter to reboot everyday at 6AM but still suffer some outages through the day and manually reboot which is a pain. I have now set-@TArman's fix and hopefully it works. thanks all
@3 hour interval for pingAck, still failed (within 4 hours of a reboot, too). I’ve dropped the pinging to every hour to see if that helps.
Just for another data point: I have installed the iOS 18 beta on my iPhone and all ATVs and HPMs. I’ve never had the “unresponsive” issue and still don’t with the betas.
Same
I still think it’s an invalid/out-of-range value from Hubitat causing the “disconnect”. Doesn’t happen to everyone.
WE NEED LOGGING!
I recently wanted to give HomeKit a try again for multiple reasons. I added the built in integration, added my devices and immediately all were showing disconnected. No amount of restarts got things going properly. I switched to Homebridge and things have been working perfectly ever since. I have 2 Apple TVs configured as hubs. The native/built-in HomeKit app simply didn't work for me on my C8 hub.
What platform are you on? Some of the recent builds have had some tweak to try and fix this issue, but maybe it is having the opposite effect for some? You could try rolling back to the platform you had before the issues started.
Agreed, @gopher.ny, any chance for some debug logging or anything to help?
I am on 2.3.9.166. But my woes started from a previous update which I did maybe a couple of months or so ago. Before that, no issue. Not sure which update broke this for me unfortunately.
One hour pinging and still going strong today. Will keep on it for the next few days to see how it goes.
Still not working at 1 hour interval pinging. Failed within 24 hours.
You said there were recent platform builds that tried to fix by applying certain tweaks. Are you aware which versions have had HK integration updates? Thinking of reverting to a version before said tweaks. Any tips on which version I should try generally would be great. Thanks all!
2.3.9.162 and .166 both had some fixes Release 2.3.9 Available - #14 by gopher.ny
As well as a couple of the beta releases. Anything at .160 or older should go back to how it was prior.
I updated the the latest Hubitat version yesterday (it said it had fixed some HomeKit stuff) so I was eager to see if the issues have been resolved. Within a couple of hours HomeKit was broken again. I have an AppleTV with a static IP. I’ve had the issue since the beginning but rebooting the device typically fixes it for about a week. This is the first time it’s broken this quickly.
Do you have the restart hourly option turned on? I have turned it off and it's been a lot more stable than before.
I do. Or, rather I did. My spouse and I were getting fed up and switched back to the HomeBridge integration.
Just curious if you have any ewLink MS01 motion sensors.
Mine were reporting out of range battery voltage values until I modified a copy of Krassimir’s driver to filter them out.
That was about the same time HomeKit settled down for me. Just a thought. Coincidence?
Negative. I only have Zigbee bulbs and two Zigbee outlets.
I have a C5 and a C8 both with homekit integration. They both have been working fine for quite awhile. Untill a few days ago. Now the C5 drops out every day. Reboot is the only thing to fix it. There have been no new devices, or removal of devices. Latest firmware.
