Dome Door/Window Sensor Pro

Helping a friend set up a green house window control. Had him get a C7 hub along with some Dome Door/Window Sensor Pro.

Was planning on using one of these to sense temperature. I changed the wake up interval from the default of 2 hours to 5 minutes. But it still only reports temperature every 2 hours. I did press configure several times over the last few days.

In addition all of the sensors, 8 in total, when you look at them in the devices say 'Pending Changes 6'. Logs say changes will be sent next time unit wakes up. But it apparently never happens. This has been over the course of several days so there should be plenty of 2 hour wakeups.

All these are currently sitting on a bench within 5 ft of the hub while we are testing our setup. Contact wise they seem to work fine.

Anyone had any experience with them that might give me some ideas?

I have these, you want to change the "wakeup interval" the sensor only sends reading when it wakes up, to save battery. I have mine set to 12 hours. These take weird batteries and 5 min wakeup will shorten life.
After changing wakeup, try hitting configure, then actuate the tamper switch inside and cycle the sensor open/closed to keep it awake

what does yours say for below? (i just changed mine to 5mins(300 seconds)

You could also use the "basic z-wave tool" to change the config values

Since we are doing some temperature based automation, 2 hours is way too long.
I was under the impression that when the unit woke up, even at 2 hours, the new configuration would be sent. I hit config and the logs tell me the new data will be sent when it wakes up. But it never happens. Here is what mine says.

My Fibaro contact sensors are the same way you have to push the tamper button until the logs show "1 pending update" left after configuring.

You can change them to whatever interval you want you just have to use the tamper button to make the changes take effect.

FYI, if you are using for temperature monitoring you might want to turn on the "Temperature reporting"

You have temp reporting disabled, and I see the interval is incorrect. Try the tamper switch. Mine also says 6 pending changes, but my reporting interval did update

OOPS, I sent the wrong pic. The one we're using for temp has temperature reporting enabled. All the others, including the one I sent the pic use 2 hour interval. I was playing around when I took the screen shot.

I think what is misleading is what the log says: Kinda indicates it will refresh automatically.

dev:152021-06-15 06:12:50.950 am warnAll configuration settings will be sent to the device and its data will be refreshed the next time it wakes up. You can force the device to wake up immediately by removing the sensor cover.

Here is the correct screen shot.

So I should take the cover off, then repeatly push the tamper button to get all the changes in?

You should just need to push it once, while watching the logs if the next notification after you push it says "1 pending chagne" or something to that effect, you're good. if it says more than that you should push it again. Repeat this until it says 1 pending change.

Tried this yesterday evening. Got message about 1 pending change in logs. But the change didn't appear to work. Then about 3 hours later it started working. Checked this morning and most of the time it is reporting temperature every 5 minutes. But occasionally it goes a couple three hours without reporting. I am hoping that maybe means it only reports if the temperature has changed when it wakes up???

For some reason it still says tamper detected, even with the cover on. I don't know that is necessarily a problem, just confusing.

For mine that tamper never clears, and it's been over 24 hours.
I wonder if @bcopeland has seen this behavior?

Maybe the sensor has to be re-paired to clear, which wouldn't make sense, I don't know, just spitballin here

I’ll check into it

What was funny, while we had the cover off the tamper switch seemed to respond as we pushed it. But putting the cover back on didn't clear it. Don't know if there is something wrong with the cover maybe. I had someone else doing it as I led him through it. I'm about 3 hours from there. I'll have him check it the next time he's at the shop.

EDIT: wondering if the cover will go on in either direction, but only one way is correct????

Can someone experiencing this enable debug logging and re-create..

The unit I am dealing with is at another location quire a ways from me. The person there is not real versed in this stuff and I have been leading him along by phone. So he is going to send the unit to me and I will pair it with my hub and try to duplicate the issue. Be a whole lot easier to troubleshoot that way.

For another data point, I just tested mine (paired with the default S0) and the tamper clears as expected.

Thanks @tony.fleisher

Interesting, mine is also joined S0, however tamper is still not clear. Do you have pending changes?

@Rxich can you turn on debugging and remove the cover and then put it back in place.. I want to see if and what reports it is sending..

Sure, thank you Bryan

I had to open close about 5 times before it went to clear
