Does logging effect battery life?

I'm not very happy with the battery life I'm seeing on zigbee water detectors and contact sensors. Is there correlation between battery life and logging? These sensors also report temperature; I assume this is when temperature changes - which is almost always.

I sure would appreciate some education!

Thanks.

No, logging has nothing to do with it. The device wakes up to report and consumes some battery in doing so. For some devices you can adjust how frequently it will report, which would obviously be helpful. Logging is just the hub doing something with the data sent by the device.
