Does Dashboard Tiles Wake up Battery Devices?

I have a battery Z-Wave sensor that reports temperature and humidity. I also have a Dashboard with two Tiles reporting those values.

Question: When I open my Dashboard, does the Hubitat actually go out and wake up the device and requests those values? Or does it use the last read values (i.e., from the 12 hour periodic wakeup)?

In general, the hub can’t wake up a battery powered device.

They are designed to wake themselves up periodically, otherwise the batteries would die much sooner if the device were in an always-listening state, waiting to see if the hub might send a transmission.

For some battery-powered devices that interval is configurable.
