So here's a project that is almost completed. Waiting on 2nd receiver.
I married a standard multi button garage door opener remote with a 2 channel garage door opener receiver with dry relay contacts. The relays are connected to a nodemcu running Tasmota (Huduino will work also with direct device support in HE) .
The end result is a multi channel button device with ~100' range for my vehicle that is now smart and 100% local.
In my use case as I arrive home I can turn off my Blue Iris video surveillance system, disarm hubitat and open my garage door without using or relying on my phone.
The nodemcu is on left, 2 channel GDO receiver (center) and space for 2nd 2 channel receiver that is en route. 3D printed case.
