If I can get ~10 "yesses" I'll order all the parts and get building. Timeline would be around 2-3 weeks from the time I place the order for the parts and PCB's.

Yeah, but that one's worth it, right!?

@dJOS I'm in... Also have you talked to @iharyadi where he's doing his stuff at? Perhaps a few dollars could be saved. Also maybe if you generate enough interest for a larger secondary order you could get a better discount? Just ideas since I don't know anything about sourcing this stuff. Also are you doing USB micro or USB C for the connectors? Is there a flow gate to prevent us from farking things up incase we plug the wrong thing into the wrong side?

Howdy, I’ll be using the original design with USB-C connectors, the other USB types suck.

The design is pretty fool proof and includes a fuse so it would be very hard to damage it , even if you accidentally plugged everything in the wrong way.

If I can get roughly 10 expressions of interest I’ll order parts for double that and make some profit from the non-Hubitat buyers. There’s likely a market for a high quality solution and I don’t mind taking a punt.

Cheers Derek

I didn't see a replaceable fuse on that... My bad..

That’s because it’s a permanent fuse. :+1:

The part is Littelfuse 0437005.WR

And this is why I'm a network engineer. I don't think I could build stuff like this to save my life... Now carpentry, framing, and electrical I can do... lol

Hehe, I’m the opposite, I’m rubbish at building big things.

Tell you what, if it helps get these made I will take two. I know I can find use for them.

Finding something that isn't a big ups is a pain. Those that are out there seem very questionable.

Hello Everyone. Let me start by saying that I don't want to criticize the LTC4040 board. I just want to make sure that we are safe here.

It seem the boards does not have low voltage protection. This is fine. If I am correct, please purchase a battery that has built in battery protection. Please have another pair of eye to review the board design. I just briefly look through it. It is common for battery to have protection built-in. I personally included battery protection in my board.

Question, How do you apply the solder? The few videos of commercial assembly shows a mask in a special jig with a lot of solder paste being wiped across the screen.

good point and protected cells are typically longer and won't fit in standard 18650 holders unless accommodations are made
