I'm benchtesting a z-wave DA setup that I'm considering. I'm using a ZEN30 dimmer to control a ZEN54 0-10V dimmer. The goal I'm trying to reach is to have two ZEN30's act as 3-way dimmers to control the ZEN54, which will do the actual controlling of several 0-10V garage lights. I know there are ways to do this thru the hub with various apps, but I would like to do this via DA.
I'm only testing with one ZEN30 until I'm satisfied with the results. Setting up the DA took about two minutes, so easy enough. It works fine as far as on/off goes. Pressing the top or bottom of the ZEN30 paddle turns on/off the light almost immediately.
Dimming seems to be another story. Setting the level from the ZEN30's device page works fine. However, I haven't figured out how adjust the brightness from the ZEN30 paddle. Press and hold does affect the brightness, but it's a guess as to how long to hold it down. There's no consistent visual cue to see how much the light level is increased/decreased. Also, the resulting brightness levels always get out of sync (i.e., the level shown on each devices' pages are different after the press/hold/release).
I added the ZEN54's DNI on the ZEN30's device page groups 2, 3, and 4. I did not add any DNI's on the ZEN54's groups on its device page. One odd thing is that after configuring, the ZEN30's page shows it has "1 pending change". Also, it shows the ZEN54's DNI on the current states and the state variables for groups 2 and 3. "AssocDNI4" shows "none" and assocNode4 isn't shown in the state variables.
The ZEN30 relay isn't connected to anything. There is no switch connected to the ZEN54.
I'm using a HE C7. It's fairly backlevel at 2.3.6.145 (if it ain't broke, don't fix it). The ZEN30 driver is "Zooz Zen30 Double Switch" and its firmware is 3.10. The ZEN54 driver is "Zooz Zen54 0-10V Advanced", and its firmware is 1.30. Both are using default parameters.
Any suggestions?
