I have Motion App setup to turn on a dimmer(which turns on multiple pot lights). Today I noticed that when somebody was in the room, the dashboard and device were showing it as "on", but the light was actually not on in the room. What might be happening here?
I’ve seen this occur sometimes on Hue Hub. I have also seen it reported on Z-Wave devices where too many devices were sent a command to change state, though in that last case, I know the devices were missed, but not sure what they reported.
What protocole are the devices on? Are you seeing errors in your log when it happens?
The dimmer (and all devices in the house) are on strong zigbee mesh. The Motion App also has "turn on of already on" option enabled, in case that matter.
Measured with an xbee3? Or the getChildAndRouteInfo endpoint?
Hmm, this might be a false alarm ! Further analysis of logs seems to indicate that it might have been my wife who manually used the dimmers right after entering the room 
As such, probably system was working "as intended"
