DIFFERENCE between Basic Rules and Simple automation Rules

Good morning All,

What is the difference between Basic Rules and Simple automation Rules, also why is it, that when I create a rule it appears in both Basic Rules and Simple automation Rules.

They are just two different apps you can use to create automations. Some may prefer one or the other. Basic Rule is newer and may flow better in terms of how people think of things when they create automations; Simple Automation Rules is a bit older and was once called Simple Lighting but had more features packed in over time. If you're new, I might suggest Basic Rule, but you can use whatever matches your preferences.

Any "rule"/app you create will only show up under whatever parent app was used to create it, Basic Rules or Simple Automation Rules. Maybe you created two similar automations under both and never removed any?

Basic Rule vs. Simple Automation Rule

Looking for some guidance here, @bravenel : is one preferred over another? Is one less resource-intensive than the other? Should I be considering (in my voluminous spare time) redoing SAs as Basic Rules? Thanks!
