Devices stop working randomly

Newbie here. Have been running C7 for about a month with ~70 zwave and zigbee devices. When it works it's awesome. Sometimes some of the devices (mixture of zwave and zigbee devices) would become unresponsive - no response when hitting on/off/refresh...etc buttons on the device page and not showing up in logs. When I said some it means the rest of the devices would still be working properly during that time. The only way I know of to be able to remedy this is to reboot the hub. Everything would then start working again magically.

My question is where should I start looking in order to get to the bottom of this, before assuming that the hub is defective? TIA.

Start by ensuring your Zigbee and Z-Wave mesh are both stable. You need enough repeaters so they can adequately communicate with the hub. Distance and building materials are going to vary that requirement.

Make sure the Zigbee network doesn't have bulbs or other devices that are repeating the signal poorly for devices. All Zigbee bulbs, except for Sengled will do this to other zigbee devices, with few exceptions. Zigbee bulbs are best on their own network, like you would have with a Hue Bridge or separate Hubitat Elevation hub. But Sengled bulbs don't repeat, so they are safe to have with other bulbs. Just don't forget that since they don't repeat, if they're too far from the hub, they too need repeaters.

Look in settings zwave details and look for any devices besides the first with nothing in the clusters column. If you find any those will need to be cleaned up by removing them. Failed pairs cause a large majority of the issues you describe. Also a good indicator is by checking the zwave logs for busy messages when you try to do something like a zwave repair or control a device.
