Devices paired but cannot control

I just finished migrating from Ezlo to Hubitat pro c8 and It seems so much better and easier, but curiously I need to learn a lot. My devices are paired with hubitat, but i can seem to be able to control them. Also, I see a few devices that the app says "unsupported", I am stuck at this point.. any help would be appreciated!

For the devices that you can't control can you tell us what the device is (with model number if possible), a what device driver (aka type) it is using? Some of the devices require that you run the configure command after pairing, so may need to try that if you haven't.

Also, if you haven't joined the Owner's group you may want to do so in case you want to post screenshots, etc.

That is simply the room screen. That doesn't mean it's not supported.

After you join the owners group please post your entire z-wave details page (use windows snip)

Also go to the actual device page (yourhubip>>devices>>device) and see if you can control it.

Thanks for the quick response. As for the unsupported, I don't see any anymore. it seems I jumped the gun because I only integrated these devices one hour earlier. It cleared since. I believe it takes a little while to settle.

Actually, I see a couple of named: Generic Z-wave device and below each we see : "unsupported" The only devices I can think of are Smart ultra pro (dimmer) ZW 3010, DSK...there are two of those, that were supported by Vera

Try changing those to Generic Z-Wave Plus Dimmer

What @thebearmay wrote. And then click the Configure button on the device page.

You mean getting other ones like another brand?

No! Change the device driver in Hubitat.

They are recommending you change the device's driver to a better fit.

In Hubitat, the driver is changed form the "Type" field in the device's "Device Info" tab page (see example picture linked here)

In that "Type" dropdown menu, all of the native drivers developed by Hubitat staff are listed. "Generic Z-Wave Plus Dimmer" will be in that list. After selecting that, hit "Save", then hit the "Configure" button (found on the "Commands" tab page [again, reference linked screenshot]) to ensure it's set for the device.

When adding a new device, Hubitat is usually pretty good at automatically picking the best driver Type for it, but sometimes there's a better fit available (like this case here).

ETA - added "Save" step per thebearmay's note below - thanks!

Save the change before hitting Configure

Thanks, it really helped, but i do not get the same icons on the phone app after changing these in the web app. and how can I control my devices from the computer (web app)?

You can create Dashboards to use on both mobile app and browser -- I'd suggest starting with "Easy Dashboards" since they are easier to create & manage than the legacy Dashboards tool.

Here is a good starting point for creating automations.

Those links are all from Hubitat's Documention site -- you can easily access it from both the community here (link in upper right corner) and from your Hubitat's UI in a browser (near bottom of left pane) -- the Documentation site is an excellent resource for learning about Hubitat's capabilities.

Thank you! but it seems the phone is not syncing everything with the web app. For example, I have settle a defective device by excluding/including and the phone still shows me the unsupported device and the computer app is showing the repaired one.

Please ignore when it says unsupported. That is just the room display. From a PC go to yourhubsip, click devices and try to control from the device page.
