Device type suggestion for Inovelli NZW39

The discontinued, 4 year old ZWave Plus Inovelli plug-in dimmer model NZW39 is not explicitly listed in the 'supported devices' list.

Should I just tell the Hubitat box that it is a 'generic ZWave dimmer' ? This does seem to work better than "Inovelli Smart Dimmer."

Or is there a better suggestion?

I notice inconsistent lagging performance on the two NZW39 devices I have. This happens much more than on other devices in the system. (And, yes, I've carefully 'groomed' the Zwave mesh, and all that. This isn't an RF signal issue.)

Inovelli has one: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/InovelliUSA/Hubitat/master/Drivers/inovelli-dimmer-smart-plug-nzw39-w-scene.src/inovelli-dimmer-smart-plug-nzw39-w-scene.groovy (appears, as many of theirs do, to be a hasty port of the SmartThings DTH--not implying that this is bad, just that there's a bit more than needs to be there, but it should work). However, if Hubitat's generic dimmer drivers work well for you, I wouldn't switch. You could even try the CentralScene one if you want multitaps, which it looks like this one supports (EDIT: if you have the updated firmware).

It’s described as a binary switch on Inovelli’s site so I’d be tempted to try the Generic Zwave Outlet

Before Hubitat added a system driver for my Eva Logik ZW39 (looks the same as the Inovelli), I used the Inovelli driver @bertabcd1234 referenced. Maybe the reverse will work for you with the system driver "EVA LOGIK Smart Plug Dimmer".

Thanks. I didn't think changing out the driver for the 'correct' one would help any, and of course, it didn't. But the purist in me says, get it as close as you can to perfect and then investigate all the other possible issues.

What I am probably going to do is sunset these two Inovelli plug-in units and get just one Caseta plug in dimmer, then plug the two floor lamps together into it, assigning them to the Pico on the adjacent nightstand. This is one high-WAF location that needs to work, snappily, all the time.

I found this thread while trying to get my NZW36 to work. I'm observing the strangest behavior - if I try to turn it off it will begin to dim for few hundred milliseconds, then it brightens again. No joke - I can't turn the device off and I can't lower the brightness to low levels (e.g. 1%). Any idea what's going on?
