I have a GE Z-Wave Plug-In Outdoor Smart Switch, part # ZW4201 that started to not respond via the dashboard. It still works with Sunrise and Sunset schedules and through the device page when I press on or off but won't respond on the dashboard. Have tried removing and adding back to the dashboard. Have also excluded and included back in as a device. Can't figure out why it is now not working. Anybody have ideas on how to fix?
Dashboard not responding is typically caused by the wrong template being used or signal issues with the device.
In such a situation, I would first check that the correct (switch or outlet) template is used. Then, I would try turning the device on/off from the device page, and immediately after, try the same from the dashboard. If the first works but the second doesn’t, then I would try to ensure that some of my other devices work from the dashboard, especially virtual devices (to eliminate the possibility of it being a signal issue).
If the connectivity is intermittent, I would confirm that there are no signal issues. This can be done by brining the hub and device closer together as a starting point, and if this resolves the issue, would add repeaters between the two.
Thanks, tried all of these and still an issue. It has worked for at least a year, no problem and then recently this. Might just be the device failing intermittently.
