Device for Voice Announcments

Hello,

I'm curious if anyone has a recommendation for a ZigBee or zwave device I can load sound files on and have them announce based on different parameters.

I currently have a Sonos and a media server, but I'm looking for something that's an all in one.

Thanks

Just making sure you’re aware that you can store .mp3 sound files on your Hubitat hub (files section) and then play them directly on the Sonos speaker. I use this technique for various announcements where I want a song played instead of just Text to Speech (TTS).

Here is an example

Will this work with Echo Speaks through an Echo?

I don’t use Echo Speaks, so I am not sure. But, I don’t think it will work with an Echo device.

Perhaps in a convoluted way (when the Echo is used as BT speaker or line-in speaker by some other device that Hubitat can communicate with).

Where there’s a will, there’s a way? :grinning:

I have a couple of these, not sure if thats what you are looking for. You can put your own announcements on it.

I have tried multiple approaches to playing an mp3 on an echo....RM and webcore, among others. I have been unsuccessful. The Alexa skill works for HA, but that appears to be a convoluted process.

While I haven't messed with the zooz siren recently, (is the driver for it working?), I have used the Ecolink Chime Siren with custom messages.

Driver works however don't have control over the light by itself which would be nice. Volume is not as loud as you may like but can be heard fine if you are in the same room.

This is exactly what I'm looking for.

Thank you

Have you tried Voice Monkey? They let you upload files to play on an Echo, but it is a subscription level service.

I'm trying to keep everything 100% local without the need of the cloud. I've ordered two of the zooz sirens that I plan on storing my own .mp3s on.
