I’m fed up with ST and am planning on moving to Hubitat. What’s the best way to remove devices from ST before adding them to Hubitat?
Also, must I also delete the device from ST as well as exclude or are they the same thing?
Personally I would factory reset each device, then shutdown the st hub. No need to exclude them or delete them from st.
A factory reset will reset the device and ready it for inclusion in Hubitat.
This is true for zigbee and zwave devices.
If you do decide to exclude Z wave devices from ST, do it from Hubitat. I find it also helps to switch off the ST hub while you do. Dunno why, but it does...
Yes but I plan on running both hubs for a while as I slowly transfer devices. Will this still work if I don't shutdown ST right way?
When I did my migration I deleted from ST, did a factory reset and then included on HE. Think I had 1 or 2 bulky devices that I had to do an exclude on HE to get them to include but most came over without incident.
