Device Activator & Alexa Voice Commands

Hi all,

I have read many article hear and other places and nothing directly answers my questions.

I'm having an issue with Alexa voice commands and discovery. Alexa sees all my devices and voice commands work most times, (most times means I'm not doing something correct with naming or Alexa setup), what Alexa doesn't see are the Device Activators. I have a couple of questions that hopefully shine some light on this.

I have my activator setup like this:

I assume the name in the command with the activator device is the command to which Alexa would respond. It appears to work with other physical devices although I haven't gone through everything and tested it. Am I correct?

I understand you set up the virtual devices in the Apps, creating a child device. Does Alexa use the App or the virtual device?

Or does this function just not work?

Thanks everyone in advance.

You need to go into the Amazon Skill app in the HE apps list and select the virtual activator device that got created to share it to Alexa. Make sure to click done at the bottom after you add it to the list.
