Database size, soft reset

so I got an alert that my database is is getting big.

Not that I have a problem with a soft reset, Though I always find that its always somewhat problematic after I do it.

Curious.. Why is there no tools that can clean up the DB without doing such a dramatic fix.

I guess, that night, I ended up getting a corrupt database issue and the HE did not work, I had to do the soft reset and restore. it was painless, but still a pain that it had to be done.
