We have a new caretaker, and we will be away for the entire month of January, and out of contact.
The caretaker has a very good point about the dashboard display for the water main cut-out device, a "WaterCop" - the standard template shows a tile with a blue background, and a faucet with a single drip coming out when the valve is open. When closed, the tile turns green, and shows an inline valve which could be "open" or "closed", its not clear from the little cartoon that this is a CLOSED valve.
Switches are well-animated and intuitive, but this valve icon is confusing. Is there anything that would:
a) Indicate that the tile is clickable to toggle the valve between on and off?
b) Show the status of the valve with the words "on / off" or "open / closed"?
c) Show the status of the valve with a better pair of icons (a faucet with a stream of water, or perhaps just the same old faucet with the international "no" symbol of a circle with a slash superimposed)
Someone must have run up against this, and done better than the stock template icons for this.
I came up with an idea, but it uses a second tile and a variable displayed that is open or closed. Tile has to be half sized if you want to see both an icon and status.
As @jtp10181 suggested, it can all be configured in the valve template. You can search for "block" as close icon in there for the red circle. Choose colors for icons and backgrounds as you like. (I chose a random small icon for open so it does not show when open)
I used this file as background in the tile configuration:
