hey y'all,
with the battery tiles they are RED when they are under 10%, is there anyway I can set the stock temp tile to do the same >35c red, <35 like green ?
In the dashboard menu under “templates”, you can edit the default colors of each template. I know that for devices with a binary state like on/off or open/closed, you can set different colors for each state. I’m not sure that’s possible with a temperature sensor though.
Batteries already are green at >50% and the color of the default background color at <50% and red as you said at <10% (although I've never seen that yet), you could change those colors , but I don't think you can change the thresholds to > or < 35.
Although were you talking about batteries or temperature? The title says Dashboard Temperature and that is what the picture shows however the description asks about batteries.
Just asking about default temp tiles to have a similar behaviour to battery default tiles and if thats possible. Say if I left a heater on in my daughters room I could check the temp visually and see it was red to then investigate (yeah I realise I could set a notification of >35 send a push message) Was just to make it nicer looking. if we could set the default state for 2 or 3 temp ranges that would be great.
10-20 20-30 30-40
That would depend on what you call warm vs what someone else calls warm and what units you are using. Hubitat doesn't offer this functionality for dimmers, even though those number are much more defined. The events for battery are also not customizable. You can't change the color for each level if you wanted. Only some devices allow for different states to have different color (fans has the most) but some only have default.
To do this you'd have to build in a way to define levels in the dashboard first and that doesn't even exist in the UI.
Did you look at @Cobra super tiles?? I think he was looking into or maybe did add this. Might be worth checking out.
I have super tiles, yep.
But the layout I have currently is close to the actual rooms of my house so I can see the whole floorplan and the temp in each room.
After I replied above, I checked on one of my dashboards, and the temp sensor template doesn’t even have any states that you can set.
I just recently installed super tiles and I’m only beginning to get a sense of what it can do. But I agree with the suggestion to look for a solution there.
this is what I have already replied about that.
Yes I understand, I am just suggesting that it may be worth looking into, since you don’t seem to have any other options.
Since a supertile is just a dashboard tile that can do more stuff (at least that’s what it seems to me in my limited testing of it), why couldn’t you replace one of your current tiles to keep the layout you like?
You cant change the tile colour, based on a defined threshold though with supertiles.
Probably not, as you say, but there may be a way to achieve something that will workaround this problem acceptably for you.
Try it out, or don’t. Good luck!
