Is it possible to set the order in which device driver commands are shown? For example I would like to pair active/inactive, open/close, and on/off. Instead I get this:
It gives me a headache. 
I did find a post from four years ago that said it is not possible. I'm hoping that may have changed.

No, at least not directly; they are alphabetical. (The device detail page is also probably not the best place for day-to-day control of devices; a dashboard might work better? Then you can display things however you want.)

I was afraid of that. I was just hoping it might be possible.
It isn't for day to day use. It just drives me nuts. I did UI design in a past life and alphabetical is not always the best choice. Imagine if your speedometer was alphabetical.

I know, I know, that's day to day use. 
Besides UI design I also did technical theater in another past life. We created a custom keyboard for show control of a major production. On the side of the keyboard was something like four rows and five columns of buttons. Most of the buttons were in pairs. The person just went down the list filling in the buttons so that several pairs were split between two rows.

3 / 4 / 4 / 5 / 5
6 / 6 / 7 / 7 / 8
They also didn't account for what the functions were. So 1/1 might be up/down and 3/3 might be left right. Related functions but spread out haphazardly.
These were buttons controlling moving set pieces big enough to kill a person. Thankfully they actually listened when I pointed out the issues. The show is still running and will turn 30 this year.
Anyway I'm just rambling now. I wish I could set the order but it isn't the end of the world. It was actually OK until I added open/closed. Before that it made perfect sense.
