I have a custom dashboard through sharptools. I am able to get it to work if I'm connected to my network but it does not work once I leave the house (vpn doesn't work either). Help!

What do you mean with "custom dashboard"? Are you referring to a feature of this name in the mobile app, or just the fact that in general you are not using the stock dashboard? More information is necessary to understand and troubleshoot your problem.
That being said, SharpTools is entirely on the Internet (nothing local on your hub, unlike Hubitat's native dashboard offerings), so, if anything, this is sort of the opposite problem you might expect to have in this case...
I upgraded to the new hubitat app. On the old one I had a customized dashboard (wasn't using the hubitat dashboard feature as it looked out of date). When I upgraded I added the website link for sharptools (under custom dashboard) so that it would incorporate with the app. It works if I'm on my home network but does not work if I am not. Also will not work if I use my vpn
Is the URL you're using something like https://sharptools.io/dashboard/view/XXXXX? Given that it's hosted in the cloud and does not depend on your home LAN for anything, I can't imagine why this wouldn't work with the right URL. Does the same URL work if you put it directly into Chrome or another browser on your phone when you're away?
Yes, by going directly to the sharptools website, I am able to control all of the apps. If connected to my network, the sharptools customized dashboard will display. Once disconnected, the hubitat app will only display the hubitat dashboard
I'm away from home, so I'm not able to test the 'working' scenario of being able to access the dashboard from home, but I think I see what @jasonpillet is saying.
When I open of the dashboards tab of the Hubitat mobile app, it's black for a second while it attempts to load, then it loads the standard list of Hubitat dashboards rather than the configured Custom Dashboard.
I wonder if it might be a bug with the new Hubitat mobile app where it's still running the detection for local vs cloud that would be needed for the Hubitat dashboards (regardless of the fact that the detection wouldn't be needed for a custom dashboard)? And since it's not detecting connectivity for the local Hubitat dashboards, perhaps it's incorrectly loading the Hubitat Cloud Dashboards list rather than using the configured Custom Dashboard URL.
Hmm, interesting thought. I'm not able to replicate this (a custom dashboard URL I tested also works when on cloud connection to the hub). I tested on both the App Store and Test Flight versions. This is, of course, with iOS. Are either of you using Android? And does the URL include the http:// or https:// portion? (That it does seem to need....)
Android 14, Pixel 7
com.hubitat.mobile
version 2.0.2
http, https, or protocol excluded didn't make a difference.
I tested with other sites as well and in all cases the Hubitat mobile app loaded the Hubitat Cloud dashboards while I'm outside my home network rather than the configured URL. I'm still away from home, so can't test local connectivity at the moment.
I was able to replicate. When not on local network, the custom dashboard is not loaded, instead, the built-in cloud dashboard is. You can expect a fix in the next update.
