Create Global variables missing?

Hi all so I have recently wanted to make use of global variables. I remember they used to be in Rule machine. I have found that the option to 'create global variable" is no longer there.

Am I missing something? Did this functionality go away? I truly hope it's user error on my part because for what I want to do global variables are the easiest way to test it out. So if anyone is aware of how to create global variables ( that can be seen by any other rule or setting ) please let me know. I would really appreciate the help.

You create Hub Variables in Settings, they’ve not been ‘Global Variables’ for as long as I can remember.

Global Variables are a Rule 4.x feature that you can still find in Rule Machine Legacy if you still have any such rules. For current Rule Machine rules (5.0 and 5.1), Hub Variables is the replacement feature, as mentioned above -- and a big reason this Rule Machine change was made (current and "legacy"). Unlike Global Variables, Hub Variables are directly usable in a variety of apps, not just rules.

honestly I had never noticed that. I just remembered seeing global variables at one point and finally had a use for them so wen looking and reading and couldn't find anything. I'm glad I asked because as always teh community pulled through in record time. Definitely appreciate it.

Now to go an figure out how to bend groovy to my will even though I have never used it directly before other than installing drivers. Wish me luck.

And, as you get older, you will remember less and less, as is the case for the rest of us old timers.
