I have a pretty simple thing that we've had with Vera for ages. When we're done with dinner, I've been able to invoke "TV time" scene. What that does is dims or turns off a few lights that would reflect on the TV more than is pleasant. It's not complicated, I had assumed a scene from "Groups and Scenes" would be the route, but while I get to choose which dimmers the scene involves, I am not seeing where I can dictate what levels each gets.
Is this something I'd need to do with Rule Machine, and if so, how do I get that rule to run on command?
I think for the old scene app you have to set the lights how you want and then click capture maybe? Its been a long time since I used that app.
Also Room Lighting would work, it is the new Scene / Group engine.
With either of those you can create an activator device, which would be like a switch you flip to turn on the scene. From there if you set up the Homekit integration you could share that activator to HomeKit and then use it in a HomeKit scene. Then you could voice command it from your phone/watch or use the Home app instead of an iOS shortcut.
