Contact Sensor Not Reporting Open/Closed

I have a sensative strips contact sensor that was paired to smartthings. It worked perfectly. I successfully excluded it from smartthings. I verified in smartthings that it was excluded.

I then included it to HE. ,According to the logs, the device was successfully included. The sensor is listed in my HE devices. It reports that the battery is at 80%, which is what is what it was formerly reporting under smartthings. However, it is not reporting closed or open. When I click on the device in the device list, it shows battery: 80%, but nothing about contact.

I repaired the z-wave network, and I rebooted my hub, but no luck.

What driver are you using?

Generic z-wave contact sensor.

Possibly try this one and hit configure? strips

Tried Strips Multi-Sensor. No luck.

Just to confirm, you used that driver, and clicked the configure button?

Strips multi-sensor is a light/water/Temperature sensor so it shouldn't be used with the strips contact sensor.

I've used the strips contact sensor with the generic contact sensor driver and it worked fine. I believe others on the forum have confirmed the same thing.

Enable debug logging, open logging, and see if anything gets logged when you trigger the sensor.

Nothing gets logged when I open the sensor. But I think every 12 (or 24?) hours battery level is logged.

Try excluding and re-pairing it? does it have a led that blinks when the magnet passes over the end indicating its sending a message?

Yes, the led blinks two times when I open the door.

I would exclude it from the HE and re-join it. sounds like maybe a bad z-wave pairing.

Have you tried rebooting the hub? I just noticed a probably-unrelated-but-similar thread about iris contacts that didn't start reporting open-close until a hub reboot.
