Connecting new device issue

I'm new here so first thing I want to say hello to everybody.
I received my Hubitat today but I'm having problem run my device.
I cant add it to the Hubitat Elevation List coz its not visible there.
Device is turned on and visible on the router ip list.
Do you have any ideas why it's not working or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Welcome to Hubitat and the Community forum.

You will want to set a static IP in your home's router for the Hubitiat Hub. That allows the Registration process to be completed and will help with adding other devices that will also need to find the hub again, such as Echo Alexa in the future.

visit portal.hubitat.com to start the registration.

Thank you for quick reply! I'm not sure what you mean. The IP address for the Hubitat is generated automatically by the router. I was trying to connect with device using its IP address but it wont connect.

The IP address given by your router will change, unless you tell your router to give the same address each time.

Use the Admin interface to your router and find where you can tie a MAC address (on a sticker on the bottom of the Hubitat Hub) to an IP address. That way, everytime you reboot the Hubitat Hub, it will get the exact same IP. You Reserve an IP address for a device via it's MAC address: which is usually a series (6) of two letter/numbers with a - or a : separating C4-E1-34-78-AB-CD

The hub comes to you 'blank' and during registration, the very latest OS (firmware) is downloaded. Until then, there is nothing to connect to on the hub.

[ there is a 'emergency' type interface found on port 8081 ( http://hubip:8081/ ) but we all hope you will not need that in your first 3 months :smiley: ]

What device are you trying to connect or connect to? The HE hub or another device that you wish to add to HE? And what was meant about a static IP, is that within your router you should set the DHCP IP address assigned to the HE to static so that it doesn't change. This should be in your router's DHCP settings.

OK. I reserved IP for the Hubitat, so it wont change, but I still cant see it on the Hubitat Elevation List.

Well, this is exactly what I did and I can't connect the hub, coz its not visible on the list.

What IP address is assigned to the hub? Are you trying to connect to it from the same network?

it's 192.168.0.104. Hub is connected to the same router as the PC

It can take several minutes for the portal to find a hub. If the hub isn't found after a few minutes, I suggest contacting support at support@hubitat.com.

I received second device from the seller and its exactly the same situation. It's not visible on the list. Checked in 3 different networks with the same results. All other devices work fine and are visible in the web. I have Fibaro too and I can use remotely via web or phone app, but the Hubitat is invisible.
