I have several old motion lighting routines that turn on lights when triggered by motion and the brightness is determined by modes. They work great. I am trying to create another one for a new room (and a new motion sensor) but since the recent upgrades I see my options are a motion lighting app that doesn't appear to have modes and a mode lighting app that doesn't appear to have motion . . . I am confused.
I don't know what I did differently but I went back into it and this time I had the slider to select modes. "Never mind".
Had you already started creating part of a motion automation without choosing the per-mode slider? I've seen this myself and think it disappears if you already have anything else configured in the child app. Glad to see you got it!
That may be what I did. Probably just a brain stall.
