If I turn lights off via Alexa the status changes to off in the Alexa app but the HE dashboard still indicates an ON status.
What is this newbie doing wrong?
Ignore dashboard for the moment and check the device details on the hub, does the state change there?
It would also help to know what devices and does it happen with all devices or just a specific one.
You can always create a temporary virtual switch and rule out dashboard if you want.
If you feel it is a dashboard issue, would help to know if it is a cloud or local dashboard and what device, os and browser you are seeing this and if you can reproduce on a different device and/ or browser.
The conflict is on both iOS and android (PC is in shop so not sure on browser), all devices I've checked are Phillips Hue bulbs connected via Hue hub.
Device details match the Dashboard, both state kitchen lights are On when in fact they are off. Same for other bulbs.
Sorry, have migrated from ST within the past couple of weeks and virtual devices are still a mystery to me.
So if this is the case, you can rule out dashboard.
It sounds like you need to enable polling in the Phillips Hue App under advanced.
Polling option is no longer available to change via app according to Hue support for fear of causing issues reporting their device status and they state it should not have any changes made.
I was talking about the Hubitat hue bridge integration app. There is an advanced option called polling.
