Another popular request, is now available! As many of you pointed out, some user names were revealing significant part of users’ email address. Starting today, new users may change their usernames within seven days after the account is created. Existing users can still change their usernames one time, by sending an email to support@hubitat.com.
With a few exceptions, a username can be virtually any string of characters with a minimum length of 3 characters and maximum of 20, as long as the name is not already in use, or one that appears similar to an existing name.
Generally, usernames are specifically disallowed if they can be considered offensive to other users, are misleading, or imply that the account does not belong to a user. The following are a few examples of reserved usernames: Hubitat, moderator, admin, system, etc
