A recent update (today) has caused an issue with formatting of the community forum on the iPhone. The formatting of the screens has a fixed width and shows only about 75% of the horizontal screen.
Creating a new topic formatting is off too as you can’t get to the green “Create Topic” button to post.
That's because you have an unposted draft -- the "+ New Topic" button is replaced by the "+ Open Draft" buttin in that case (at least on some pages; this might be context-sensitive).
For the other problems, have you tried clearing cache and reloading the page? I don't think iOS offers a way to do this for a single page only like most desktop browsers so, so it's probably all or nothing and might not be worth it if the oddities you're seeing are tolerable for a few days or whenever your browser realizes its cache might be outdated (though I remember some trick like putting it in airplane mode, reloading the page and letting it fail, then taking that off to trick it into reloading a specific site--not sure if that was exactly it).
If the issue still persists, knowing your model of phone (screen size) and iOS version may be good.
Looks like you are browsing it in "desktop" view instead of mobile. In the share box menu in the browser I think there is usually an option to request the desktop / mobile site.
I would try getting the official "Discourse" app and opening it through there. That's what I have been using for a while now and have no issues with it.
The view was the desktop view, but the setting was for mobile. No flipping back and forth did anything. Some iOS glitch, I guess. I'm running iOS 18 RC.
Deleting the website data and history fixed the issue. And both views work.
Didn't know it existed, thanks. The Hubitat mobile site even looks better on it.
That does highlight an iPhone formatting issue that has existed for as long as I can remember. In Safari there is still a small width issue that makes the enables the horizontal scroll, making the view 'squishy'. That scroll issue does not exist on other Discourse community websites. And it does not exist in the Discourse version of Hubitat community.
View on iPhone Safari. You can see the right side gets barely cut off, the 'm' gets cut off.
