What is the right forum to discuss about the problem which is still there because of the latest hub firmware update? I do understand that some of the comments were "in your face" type of thing but closing the topic is just awful way to deal with it.
Yeah I think you are right about the reasons but still this is a community where people want to share their thoughts or write about how they for example deal with the problem while waiting staff to do some magic. Like they always do and I appreciate it!!
Still saying.. there's a different ways to deal with hostile action and for the great community like this...I think it should not go like this.
Itβs always a subjective call, and one Iβm sure that was not made without some deliberation, but sometimes it is necessary to give everyone a chance to cool down and move away from the emotional response.
Honestly shutting down threads like that is exactly how it should go. As @thebearmay pointed out it had run it's course and Bruce answered why and the aggressive user kept on escalating it. Closing it helps maintain the community instead of letting threads devolve into all out toxic brawls that harm the community. Bruce is aware of the issue and will fix it... That's how it always goes. Now I want tts for my homepods... Bryan needs to move his butt on that...l.ol
Just to clarify, I was the original OP on that topic and I wasn't the one to keep escalating it. In fact, I wisely kept silent. In fact I was beginning to regret starting it and glad it got shut down.
You can mute a user by clicking on their profile. Once the profile is opened, you click where it says normal and you can either Mute or Ignore. Muting just turns off any notifications from comments they make. Ignoring hides their responses. I have only done this for two individuals. I usually also look at other comments they have made to see if it is a pattern (in the last case I used it, nearly all of the user's comments, even on other threads, were along the same line demanding that HE staff take away functions from built in and 3rd party apps that they determined were completely broken or non-functional. I don't have anymore time for that and they don't really want assistance.)
We will pretty much always close a thread that has gone hostile. Nothing stops anyone from starting a new thread, like this one. The point is to break that energy, as it does nothing for anyone.
Meanwhile, this issue with Chromecast TTS has been fixed, and that fix will be in the next release.
