Chromecast (Beta) on a separate hub?

At Bobby's suggestion I have disabled the Chromecast (Beta) app. So far, my hub seems to be running fine (sound of knocking on wood).

I am wondering, would putting the Chromecast (Beta) app on a separate hub be an effective way of avoiding the Chromecast (Beta) "issues" (hub lockups)?

Sure, it would contain any impact to that other hub.

I have a โ€˜mediaโ€™ hub, which has chromecast, echo speaks & sonos speakers along with all my โ€˜speakingโ€™ apps.
That way, if anything goes wrong, it only affects TTS and nothing else.

Works well for me

Chromecast is on my 'coordinator' hub, along with all my other 'internet needy' Apps: Echo, NOAA, wx-ApiXU-Driver, etc.

It works great like that, so far. Someday I'll pile too much on to that hub, but it's not busy so far.

I've kept all zigbee/zwave devices and associated in built apps on my main hub and made a 2nd hub have any wifi/cloud devices or custom apps/devices. Seems to be working out well and i'm many weeks without a crash/need to restore from backup.

The sad thing is this issue of hub lockups due to Chromecast is months old. I wonder if this is ever going to be fixed.

I have to say, I must have been really lucky.. this has never been a problem for me.
Not much consolation I know.
