About a month ago, I was told by the support to disable Chromecast audio integration, as they thought it was unstable and was causing troubles to my and others hubs.
Was it fixed by now? Is it safe to install it again?

I wasn't aware of any problems with this, for me Its always worked well and caused no problems with the hub.
Yeah, caused issues for me too.
I've not seen anything about in the release notes for the last few updates so assume it's still 'iffy'.
It has not caused any issues on any of my hubs either.
That doesn’t mean that it couldn’t.
It may well be a combination of this app and another which caused your problems.

Bob, was it causing slowdowns on your hub or what?

Big time. My hub would become unresponsive or extremely slow and would need a reboot.
Support could see issues in the logs with Chromecast and advised me to disable the app and redefine all my rules etc. to push notifications away from it. I went back to my Sonos speaker.
I then did a soft reset and loaded my latest backup (as advised by support) and I have had no issues since.
For me they saw many error logs from Chromecast driver, while debugging much more serious issue - the database got corrupted, the hub was very slow, upgrades failed and I had to fully reset the hub.
There was no clear indication whether Chromecast was the cause, but they advised me to disable Chromecast audio "for now"...
